Who we serve

With a long history of community involvement, our church gives in many ways  to the area's disadvantaged youth and adults including those threatened by domestic violence, hunger or homelessness, The city is  also home to the state mental hospital and medium security prison - two more areas of interest  There are many needs in the community and we are willing to reach out and provide support, in whatever ways we can - for example, by supplying stuffed animals and school supplies for kids, Christmas gifts for patients, personal care items for the homeless, food and financial help or even a bus depot. .

This is a relatively new area of community for us. We are continually searching for ways to interest and attract young people as so many are dismissing Christianity due to the religiious right's negative message..

Because much of our membership and community are seniors this is an area of particular interest and involvement, whether it's nursing homes and assisted living programs, visiting shut-ins or fellowship.. These are involved seniors doing everything they can ,from signing giant Valentine cards for, or taking Christmas goodies to, our shut-ins.
